WORLD-CLASS CRAFT DISTILLERY
EXPERIENCE EXCEPTIONAL CRAFTSMANSHIP
Visit Virunga Mountain Spirits at the foothills of the Virunga Mountains.
Before arriving, schedule a tour and tasting to experience our process firsthand through sight, taste, and touch.
You will tour the demonstration farm and distillery to learn about the history of Rwanda and the region, plus craft spirits production. You will discover how the equipment functions and how potatoes are transformed into our premium vodka.
Directions from Kigali: Leave the city via Nyabugogo taking the RN1, then turn right onto RN4 towards Musanze (Ruhengeri). Keep going until you pass the center of Musanze town. After passing the District Hospital to your left, take the next road turning right, following the signs towards Volcanoes National Park. Follow the road towards Volcanoes National Park (Kinigi) for about 4.5 km, then you find the Virunga Mountain Spirits on the left side of the road, 1km after the Africa Rising cycling center.

ECO-FRIENDLY DISTILLERY
-
Our team sources small potatoes and potato by-products, fermenting and then distilling it to extract the alcohol. Most waste will be potato slurry and water that can be reused for compost or animal feed.
-
Distilling is almost silent, generating as much sound as a boiling pot of water. Other sounds may result from bottling or moving product, but these would be no louder than the clinking of glass.
-
Distilleries do not generate fumes or pollution. All processes are driven by water and steam only.
